The fluorescent ink becomes much easier to see when illuminated with a suitable UV or blacklight source. A darker environment can make the effect easier to view.

UV ink is not automatically suitable for every stamp, cartridge or surface. A clean, dedicated compatible pad gives you the best starting point.
A new dry pad avoids contamination from ordinary coloured ink and gives you a controlled starting point.
Add a small amount evenly, allow it to distribute through the pad and make a test impression. Avoid saturating the pad.
A suitable UV torch or lamp is needed to check fluorescence. Ambient light and the UV source both affect what you see.
