Choose by surface first

Which material are you marking?

The pad formula matters more than the colour. Pick the intended surface, then confirm that the stamp face fits comfortably inside the usable inked area.

Two pads, two jobs

Start with the surface—not the shade

These pads are not interchangeable. The creative pad is made for absorbent paper and card; the specialist pad is listed for natural poultry eggs when used as directed.

The fit check

The rubber impression must fit inside the inked area

Measure the actual rubber design—not just the outside of the stamp handle. Leave a little clearance around every edge so the full impression can touch the pad without catching the casing.

The COLOP Make 1 pad is 90 × 50mm. The egg-pad is 50mm x 90mm.

A cleaner impression

Four simple stamping habits

Start lightly. Excess pressure can over-ink the stamp edges and turn fine detail into a heavy, uneven print.

1

Clean and dry

Make sure the rubber face is free from dust, fibres and old wet ink.

2

Tap evenly

Touch the rubber lightly across the pad until the full design has an even film of ink.

3

Test first

Make a test impression on a spare piece of the same suitable surface before the final item.

4

Close the lid

Reseal the pad promptly and store it flat, cool and away from direct heat or sunlight.

Before you buy

Keep the formula matched to its job

Water-based ink needs an absorbent surface

Use the COLOP Make 1 on ordinary matt paper or card. Do not assume it will dry reliably on glossy, coated, laminated, plastic, metal or other non-porous materials. Read the Stamp Ink Guide →

Egg marking is a specialist use

Do not substitute a normal craft or office pad. The egg pad is listed for marking natural poultry eggs when used as directed; follow the supplied directions and keep it separate from other inks.

Do not mix ink formulas

Cross-contamination can change drying, colour and suitability. Keep each pad closed, store it flat and use a clean stamp face when moving between colours or formulas.

Ink-pad questions

Choose and care for your pad

Which ink pad should I choose?

Choose by surface. Use the COLOP Make 1 for creative stamping on absorbent paper and card. Use the specialist egg-marking pad only for its stated natural-poultry-egg purpose and follow the directions.

Will my hand stamp fit the 90 × 50mm pad?

Measure the rubber impression face. It should fit comfortably inside the 90 × 50mm inked area with clearance around every edge. Do not judge fit only by the outside handle size.

Can I use the COLOP Make 1 on glossy or non-porous surfaces?

Do not assume so. Its water-based ink is best matched to absorbent matt paper and card. Glossy, coated, laminated and non-porous materials normally need a surface-specific ink.

Is the egg-marking pad a normal craft pad?

No. It is a specialist pad listed for marking natural poultry eggs when used as directed. Keep it separate from craft and office inks, and do not substitute a general-purpose pad.

Which colours are available?

The COLOP Make 1 currently has fourteen named colour variants. The egg-marking pad currently offers black and red. Use the live variant selector as the final availability guide.

How do I stop an ink pad drying out?

Close the lid immediately after use, store the pad flat in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and avoid leaving it open while preparing the items you plan to stamp.

Ready to match pad, surface and colour?

Compare the two current pads above. If the stamp face or material is unusual, ask Stamp Ninja before ordering.
